I’m Dr. Neal Doran, a PhD paleontologist and professor of biology who has spent decades studying fossils, geology, and the history of science—as a confessional evangelical who holds to the authority of Scripture.

Faith and Reason-25 exists for Christians who want to pursue intellectual honesty and biblical faithfulness. We are also here for anyone who has interests in science, history, philosophy, and how that informs our views of reality. Here, we explore the evidence with academic rigor and theological confidence. Why “25”?

This project relaunched in 2025 after a talk in the Rhea County Courthouse, home to the famous Scopes Trial of 1925. This period is a reminder of the changes, clarity, and also unexpected findings since that time.
